Round 15

At thirty degrees Celsius at Lakeridge golf course it was a little too hot for a few of twenty-seven SGC members that showed up and played with that soaring heat last Sunday. A few of them who reside in the west end were also a bit reluctant of playing that day because of quite the distance to travel to this east end venue which is in the beautiful little town of Innisfil. But since it was a Super Series week and the conclusion of the monthly race involved, as well as facing difficulty of a challenging golf course, it didn’t matter anyway. Or did it?

One of the big hitting players, the muscular Steve Kim thought that this golf course was there for the taking and to his liking, mind you. Eventually finishing with a net score of 68, Steve grabbed the day prize. Together with Sophera Tuy with a net of 69, they were the only ones who signed their score cards in the high net 60s. As you guessed it, Steve also won the Nassau total net and shared the back nine with Sophera.

Other Nassau winners were the ever “show me the money” kind of guy Rey Plaza captured the front nine and as mentioned above, the up & coming Sophera Tuy shared the back nine with Steve Kim.

In the accuracy shot department, the sly Ross Bautsta never got challenged on the difficult par 3 seventh hole while the never giving up wily veteran Fred Halili got it the closest on the seventeenth demonic water infested hole.

But who has got the biggest fish of them all? Why it was none other than the smooth swinging Dave Nelson who narrowly beat two pursuers by two strokes and snatching the Super Series 3. Well done. By the way, Dave also got the best gross score of the day with an 82 followed by Joey Cruz with an 83.

In the consistency department – the Month 3 contest, it was Jun Paculaba who was leading all the way from the very start for four weeks but got caught at the very last game by who else, Steve Kim. These two gentlemen shared the top prize for this coveted contest.
