Was this the only grumble we heard about Tangle Creek golf course? That it was too far? It only happened once a year and considering thirty-three players were in attendance that day it was not so bad after all. Could not talk about anything else as this writer was out of town and no one fed anything at all to me except the scores. All I know was the sensational performance of one member as indicated by his score.
Posted previously about this member who was showing early signs of dramatic competitive substance by contending every time he played. The fact is, if he played regularly he could be the one to gain all of the SGC accolades. Oscar J. closed out with a net of 62 to earn himself the solo 50 points.
Nassau: Oscar J. was nice enough to share the front nine with Ross B. and Jojo D. but Oscar overwhelmingly took sole position of winning the back & overall.
Race to Month 4: The rise of quiet play of Bong M. got himself the lead by a mere stroke over Saed J. & Dave N.
Race to MIP: A tie that seldom happened between Jojo D. & Jimmy M. proved to be a close race. This folks is the race that is so uniquely different. Even a slight poor routine to a round would reflect nastily to the player’s status. Manny C. who just registered his twelve games was following close in third place.
Race to Senior POY: Another close race concerning only three members. Joey C. surviving the last round by leading Seho O. by two strokes while Bong M. in steady third place seven strokes behind the leader. Mathematically, there is still hope to catch the front runners for other senior members with eight games to go.
Race to POY: If you ask me, this race is anybody’s race to surmount. Why? With eight games to go and winning two huge 50 points or more could put you in seventh heaven while the front runners are in the idling mode. Jimmy M. with a touch lead over Jojo D. of less than five points sits warily at the top followed by Seho O. and Joey C. Dave N. with his resurgence of late grabbed fifth place.
ANNOUNCEMENT: If I’m not mistaken it is “Blind partner” contest at Kingsforest next week.
Congratulations to all winners.
