Cheers to all participants in this year’s GTAA Interleague. Much appreciation to SOGA for hosting vigorously this event at Carlisle Golf & Country Club last Saturday. Sierra Golf Club thanks SOGA’s president and its members for making this one another success story. More than one-hundred and forty players played and the attendance was considered one of the biggest or if not the biggest even without Tiger Woods. Kidding aside, the weather turned out perfect and cooperated the whole day as if it was on cue.
How did SGC fare this time at the height of this competition you asked? Well there were signs of good karma and preparation by the members prior to this event. Although SGC did not win the team overall lowest score, which was won by BIGAT – applause, applause – SGC performed well to garner second place. This was a huge accomplishment by the whole SGC team as SGC jumped from last place from the previous years to well-earned second place.
SGC would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of these triumvirate members – Manny Chea, Jojo Dizon, and Jimmy Manguerra – who performed with guts and gusto winning best gross and best net walloping the very best of other clubs that they had thrown in into the arena. Should we say they put SGC on the map? Of course they did without a doubt.
The obvious was as far as the team effort was concerned these three players mentioned above could not do it alone without the support of other members. SGC would like to acknowledge the exceptional show of determination in a team effort by the following members: Joey Cruz, Oscar Jacela, Fred Halili, Sam Kim, Pat Deoca, Mike Montilla, and Eddie Ilao. Upon finding out who made the top ten net scores to improve SGC’s position as second placer, SGC salutes our very own Seniors – Fred Halili & Pat Deoca. Good work fellas, you made the rest of us so proud !!!
For a complete round-up of scores and standings, SGC will post it as soon as we receive the complete list.
Hope to see you all next year to be hosted by Philcan.
