Official start of summer was last week and guess what, summer’s already in full swing. Players more times than not are now to endure long hot lazy days. As of last Sunday at Royal Woodbine golf course, only three players were not able to show up. As a matter of fact most of the thirty-five players that did, most of them were aspiring to be the preferred one to grab the Super Series top prize. However the likelihood of winning this one for some members was just virginally a dream – dream big if you could. Nothing wrong with it. They say ball is round and you’ll never know what happens.
Just three days prior to last Sunday, I met with one of our SGC seniors in one of our religious sect gatherings they called “off-track” institution. He said and I quote, “I’m not playing that good lately but this Sunday, I feel like confident enough to enter that Super Series contest and win it”. True to his words, Exe N. entered the contest and won it together with Jimmy M.
A lot of good things happened that Sunday. Particularly interesting was that Exe and Jimmy both turned in a net of 67 tying another senior, Rey Mac garnering the best net score of the day.
Nassau: Two other seniors showing gritty mettle – one Rey P. who I heard was mysteriously practicing hard in a mystifying place, grabbed the front nine while the other senior, Sennix B. took the back. With Rey Mac’s net of remarkable 67, he took overall tying that guy Jimmy M. who seemed to be placing himself in the winning podium all the time.
Closest to the pin: Members were heard saying that they had never seen this one happening in so many years. One senior member, Bingoy P. shooting the closest to pins 4th & 10th that nobody was able to beat.
Month 2: It was game five of the month so somebody would win the monthly honours. Jojo D. outmaneuvered Jimmy M., yes it was him again and Sam K. to reap first place. Only a mere stroke separating the three gentlemen.
Special mention to Jun P. who shot an eagle on the par 5 ninth.
Congratulations to the winners.
