Let us call this week ‘WEEK of the FREDs’. This past week or so must be the week for the ‘young onced’ or should we say ‘oldies but goodies’. We are proudly talking about the two Freds – De los Reyes & Halili winning big time at Kingsforest. Streaking Fred H. won the SuperSeries 4 tied with Bingoy P. both carding net score of 69. Third & fourth places spread out amongst three players – Nap P., Jimmy M., & another player. Fred DLR who very seldom takes out the mullah from his own pocket to bet, must have sensed something good before the start of the round. He decided to chip in and won the lowest overall net score of 67. Jun P. attested that Fred’s short game was in a very good form. Fortunately for Fred H. & Bingoy P., Fred DLR did not join the SuperSeries contest for it could have been a sweep. He walked the course as he always did on any course. Manny M. commandingly took care of the back nine with a sizzling net score of 32. Paul H. who was in the same group was quoted saying, “Manny could have had much lower score if not for very few mistakes“.
POY news: Looks like Seho O. is poised to project as the leader to the end. Jojo D. is still in touch of the lead as well as Joey C. & Sennix B. Few players rally to find their spots in the top five with five games to go. Bouncing back is Jimmy M. onto seventh place a mere stroke behind fifth place.
Closest to the pin winners: Jun P. shot admirably on 7th hole. Nap P. never got challenged on the 14th. Glad to see both start their winning tracks again.
Perfect weather for a round of golf leaning a little bit to the chilly side for the twenty-four players who showed up divided to seven flights. The starter person at KF acknowledged that this was SGC’s last day of playing this course as he started shaking our hands saying “See you next year”. He is a chatty and a warm person indeed.
We had a hearty get together at the club house cafeteria after the round as most of the winners treated us with soft drinks, beer, fries and the famous KF chicken wings. Joey C. who had to leave early to take care of personal business, left an amiable job of handling the golf scores after the round to others. Much appreciation to Jimmy M`s handling of the score sheet for the day. Thanks to Bong M. who took care of supervising the ordering of food. He happened to shell out his own money (you ought to know he was not one of the winners folks). Nice of Manny M. to keep beer flowing when all jugs were all emptied and consumed. He already contributed prior to the cause.
We miss playing with one of our members, Ray M. SGC wishes he could get over his difficulties with the help of the Almighty.
Officially we have only three weeks of summer left. Sad to say that we only have five games remaining. Likely the good times will be going soon and time to be moving on separate ways again.
See ya all next week at Glen Cedars.
