Round Cancellation Decision

Below are the final details of what was agreed on by the SGC members due to last Sunday’s game cancellation at Ballantrae golf course:

  1. Game cancelled last Sunday has been re-scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2013 at Ballantrae.

As a result of the re-scheduling, results of the:

  1. Oct. 13th round will now count as the fourth score for the monthly prize.
  2. Oct. 13th round will be the first game of the grand finals.
  3. Oct. 13th round will be the last round to be included in the Senior’s POY winner calculations.
  4. Oct. 13th round will determine the 5th Super Series winners.

 

  1. October 14th round will be used to determine the Grand Finals winners.
  2. October 14th round will be used to determine the POY winners.
  • Should there be a course tournament stoppage on either of the 2 dates identified above, all prize calculations will be done according to steps posted in our website under local rules.

  1. Hmmm….Jimmy, that sounded like my suggestion last week regarding the GF. Hopefully we get great weather this time around.

    Question…… would a hole-in-one have counted last week for the groups that actually played a hole? Would it have been counted whether or not the round was finished since the finished hole “was in play” prior to cancellation of the same round?

  3. Not everyone was pleased with the majority who voted to play sunday-monday. Speaking for a few sierra members, Monday has been our day of refuge from golf. Now i hope all those voters understand our predicament that we are now FORCED to play SEVEN DAYS of golf a week!!! Please have some sympathy. Thx.

  4. Grand Finals:

    Awarded to players with the lowest aggregate of 2 BEST net scores (Best 2 of 2).

    If any of the attending players failed to complete their round due to weather related reason (course closure) during one or both of the scheduled Grand Final (GF) rounds, we will use the last 2 completed scheduled rounds to determine the GF winners.
    Example 1: 1st day GF not completed and 2nd day GF completed. Use the 2nd GF round and the completed round prior to the 1st GF round.

    Example 2: 1st and 2nd day scheduled GF’s not completed. Use the last 2 rounds completed prior to the GF scheduled dates.

    Note: Example of rounds mentioned above are based on rounds officially played before GF.

    Since we all decided (except Levi) not to use example 1. Maybe this rule should be changed for next year since this actually is not fair for those who didn’t play prior to 1st GF but was at the course on during cancelled 1st GF game. We should change it to adding a make up game like what was voted last Sunday….

    This will be called “Levi rule” lol

    • Would have been in the bag however Levi’s index would probably been a 2 for the final game 🙂

      • The POY would have been in Levi’s bag already if not for this overturned ruling. He could even skip the supposedly GFinal 2 seating in his couch comfortably and still win POY.
